Playing with flowers

I hear the East coast has been completely covered in snow.  I'm not sure I've ever seen snow, except from a distance, maybe.  What I have seen lately are K's pictures of flowers that she's been taking with her new lens.  She showed me some of them the other day.  I love how pretty and colorful they are!



Some recent adventures......

Okay, so I've officially failed at this 365 stuff, but in my defense, K just got a new camera and has been too busy playing with it to take me on any adventures.  We have been on some cool walks though while she's been testing it out.  She did some test shots in Berkeley about ten days ago:

Two weeks ago, we went down to the Stanford campus:

And yesterday, we went to visit K's parents in Santa Rosa:

She got two more new lenses yesterday, so we'll have to see what she can do with them!

More vacation pics

This is K writing now.  I'm stealing the spotlight from Pandora so I can post some more vacation photos.  We spent ten days in Mazatlan, enjoying good weather, lots of sunshine, beautiful sunsets, good food and, of course, tequila!  We stayed at the Playa Mazatlan Hotel, one of the older hotels in the Golden Zone.

We visited the Old Town, the Pino Suarez market, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and the Plaza Machado.  A lot of the old city has been restored and the colors of the buildings are just amazing.

We took a tour of a tequila distillery and a small town called El Quelite, which was like taking a step backward in time.

We also went on a cruise to Isla de la Piedra (Stone Island), which really isn't an island at all, where we drank tequila, took a walk and hung out on the beach.

But the best parts, and the parts we miss the most, were the sunsets.

Vacation pics!

K and R just came back from what they tell me were ten wonderful days in Mazatlan, Mexico.  I wouldn't know because I didn't get to go, but they said they would take me next time.  Here are just a couple of photos from that trip, with more to come as soon as K gets done editing them.

They were there for Christmas and this is how the hotel was lit up at night. 

Wow!  They saw whales!  How cool is that!

Aren't they cute!  I had lots of fun with my petsitter, but I kind of missed them, too.  I'm glad they're home!

Not a good sign...

So here it is, January 5th, and K hasn't posted anything on this 365-day blog for 15 days.  Guess that means she'll have to post 15 photos to make up for it!!  Let's see, where should she start?  Oh, here's one from outside Grandma's house, right before she went on vacation.  It was raining....
