Elephant seals = really cool animals

So K and R went down to Ano Nuevo in San Mateo County the other day to see the elephant seal colony that lives there each winter.  K's boss, Michael, is a docent there and was able to work it out so he could lead their group, which was very cool.  I couldn't go because the park rangers thought the seals might be scared of me.  Anyway, the weather was totally gorgeous and K and R said they were able to get really close up to some of them.  Take a look:

We love the rain!

Most people hate the rain because it gets in the way of what they want to and it's all wet and stuff.  K loves having the rain back because she loves having the muted light with which to take her pictures.  She had an appointment yesterday with a new doctor (everything's fine!) and there was a garden behind the building so what does she do?  She takes pictures!!

It was spring for a few days

We've been having the most awesome weather lately, like spring arrived two months early.  Temps in the 60s and 70s, no fog, no rain, and lots of flowers coming up everywhere.  I especially love the cherry trees because when they're in bloom, they look like puffy pink clouds.  It's a shame they only last a couple of days, and now that there's rain in the forecast, they may not survive the week.  K took some photos of some of the spring flowers this week.  We'll use them to keep up our spirits until the sun comes back.

More fun with macros!

K was working on her homework today but took some time to go on a walk around the neighborhood with me and R.  I think she wanted to take some more pictures that would make up for the ones that didn't work out yesterday.  I think she did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself.  Especially the one of me.

Aren't I just the cutest thing?  :-)

SPN Fun

Yesterday, we went to the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park to meet some of K's photographer friends, Jessica and Lorraine.  The weather was just beautiful but man, was it humid inside that greenhouse.  K was practicing her macro (close-up, for the rest of us) shots and overall, I think she wasn't too happy although a couple I thought came out really well.

We had a great time with the other ladies.  All the same, I was glad to come home and get some sleep.
